Interact Arts Education

Interact Australia’s Arts Education Program is designed to enhance the educational opportunities of adults with disabilities in areas of fine arts, theatre arts, multimedia, music, dance, communication and self-representation.

The Program’s approach emphasises engagement in collaborative projects with mainstream arts and community organisations. The students are encouraged and supported to participate in public cultural events showcasing their artwork and performance productions.

A new branch of Arts Education is the program Interart (‘into art’) which is based on the same principles as the generic Arts Education programs but is targeted at a younger age group (Futures for Young Adults etc) who will be more likely to have common social interests and aspirations. Interart is also based at the Abbotsford Convent.

Individuals wishing to join either Arts Education or Interart or organisations interested in collaborative projects are invited to contact Kara Gill the Manager of Arts Education on 9416 1840 or by email kgill@interactaust.com.au
