My practice is concerned with temporality as interpreted through photography, which I work through in installation, photography, drawing and collecting. My current research is examining interactions between the garden and photography.

Over the past few years I have collected a number of photographs through eBay and flea markets, of people photographed in gardens. For me, an interaction is created between the photographed subject and its placement in the garden, which has lead me to consider what connections can be made between the two.

I am interested in the differing ways each revolves around time. For me the garden becomes present through its accumulation of the past in which it moves into the future. The garden gives from the past. Singular in completeness, each plant is waited on, becomes present and displaced through time. Similarly each photograph refers to a singular moment in a turning present, remaining so while continually displaced. I am curious as to how the subject of the garden might come to alter temporality in the photograph.
