PRIVACY STATEMENT
We recognise the importance of privacy protection and the confidentiality of your personal information is fundamental to the way the Abbotsford Convent Foundation does business.
A new Federal privacy framework regulating the way private sector organisations handle personal information has applied since 21 December 2001.
The Abbotsford Convent Foundation is governed by the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) and the ten National Privacy Principles set out in that Act.
Collection of personal information
When ever we collect personal information from you, either over the phone, or via application and registration forms, we will make every attempt to inform you of why we are collecting the information, to whom that information may be disclosed and for what purposes we intend to use the information.
We may use personal information for several purposes
The Abbotsford Convent Foundation may collect your personal information:
- To place you on our mailing list
- To perform administrative and operational tasks
- For purposes connected with the operation, administration, development and enhancement of the Abbotsford Convent project
- To deal effectively with any enquiries you may have about the Abbotsford Convent
- To assess suitability of persons or organisations in relation to the specific nature of the Abbotsford Convent project (including Heriatge values and public safety)
The circumstances under which we disclose information about you
It is the policy of the Abbotsford Convent Foundation not to sell or pass on any personal information about you that you have provided to us unless we have your express consent to do so. An exception to this is where the Abbotsford Convent Foundation may be required by law to disclose certain information.
At all times we will take care to ensure that your personal information is protected and treated confidentially and in accordance with the Privacy Act.
