Convent Studios

The studios in the Convent building are occupied by people engaged in creative practices that are relatively quiet and safe: writers, film-makers, visual artists, composers etc (i.e. no heavy machinery, dangerous chemicals or noise likely to disturb others).

The studios are on the second floor of the Convent and were formerly the bedrooms of the Sisters. Most of these spaces are approximately 10 square metres in size; there is also a very limited number of double studios. Each studio has 24 hour access, heating, natural and fluorescent lighting, and a phone jack.

Convent studio lease terms are usually 12 to 24 months and existing tenants are invited to apply for a new lease towards the end of the term. Availability of Convent building spaces averages approximately 10 rooms per year.
