Kinesiology

Katie Burke has been practising kinesiology since 2001 and is a Specialised Kinesiology Practitioner registered with the Australian Kinesiology Association and the Australian Traditional Medicine Society. She has a Diploma of Health Science (Holistic Kinesiology).

What is kinesiology?
Kinesiology is an energetic healing modality that identifies and resolves blockages and imbalances in the body on physical and metaphysical levels. The body has an innate healing intelligence but when stresses interrupt the energy flow it will no longer be able to compensate and symptoms will occur.

Stresses that kinesiology may be able to relieve:

  •     physical pain
  •     emotional stress
  •     depression and anxiety
  •     chronic fatigue
  •     headaches
  •     allergies
  •     skin conditions
  •     addictions
  •     learning difficulties
  •     postural problems
  •     digestive disorders
  •     systemic diseases
  •     menstrual and fertility problems
  •     breaking habits small and large

An imbalance will affect people in different ways, as we are the by-products of our genetics and all our past experiences. Using kinesiology, Katie will focus on your uniqueness and how the complex, interactive relationships on all levels of your being are functioning.

What does a kinesiology session involve?
After an initial discussion to establsh the issue to be worked on, you will be asked to lie on the table face up and fully clothed. To uncover the blockages that contribute to your imbalances, Katie will employ muscle testing. From the muscle response, we can ascertain the causes and remedies needed to balance the body on all levels.

How does it work?
Kinesiology uses a muscle testing feedback system to access information from your body. An unlocking muscle indicates a stress or imbalance somewhere in the body. Muscle testing bypasses conscious thought processes to access this information from the subconscious via neural pathways and the meridian system. Drawing on Chinese philosophies, kinesiology recognises the integral relationship between flow of energy in a meridian and its related muscles, organs and emotions. Once the dysfunctions are identified the muscle feedback system can then ascertain how to correct the imbalances, healing the body at the rate it requires.

What remedies are used?
The remedies Katie uses to bring your body back into a state of balance and diffuse stress are gentle and nurturing. They include:

  •     acupressure
  •     nutritional support
  •     flower essences
  •     aromatherapy
  •     massaging neuro-lymphatic points
  •     holding neuro-vascular points
  •     counselling

Emotional stress diffusion is an important part of the procedure as there is a causal emotion underlying most dysfunctions. By bringing awareness to the conscious mind there is an opportunity to change patterns in the brain that have become entrenched due to past trauma or learned beliefs. This enhanced awareness gives you a greater freedom of choice in decision making, eliminates inappropriate reactions and alleviates anxiety about the future, opening the way to harmony of mind, body and spirit.

Session time is one hour.
