About Melbourne Piano Trio
Building on their reputation for impeccable interpretation and musical skill, Holly Piccoli, Chris Howlett and Rhodri Clarke combine to form the Melbourne Piano Trio. These three friends combine to bring honest and dynamic performances of the much loved and also the lesser performed trios of the repertoire. They have been performing together for five years in the current format and have performed throughout Europe, Australia and Asia together.
Holly Piccoli is a graduate of the acclaimed Yale University and has an extensive solo and chamber music career in America and has performed at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall and toured Japan and Singapore with American Orchestras. Holly returns home twice a year to Australia to perform with Melbourne Piano Trio and also Australian Chamber Orchestra.
Chris Howlett is a cellist, producer and director and loves the varied lifestyle that this enables. As a cellist his focus is on chamber music performances with the trio, as well as duo performances of the cello Sonata repertoire with close friends. He performs regularly at a number of Australian festivals and has performed concertos around the world.
Rhodri Clarke has had an amazing career in Europe, graduating from the Royal College of the Arts with First Class Honours. He has recorded on many of the main labels and performed in all the major concert halls of Europe. In Australia he is on faculty at the Australian National Academy of Music and maintains a heavy schedule of chamber music.
